Today I want to stand up for a couple of tools developed by Monster: Career Snapshots, Career Benchmarking and Career Mapping. Not because the tools are so great in their current incarnation, but because Monster has shown the courage to develop such tools.
The key question however is: do the Career Tools offer an added value which is recognized by job seekers. And that’s where it goes completely wrong. This is partly because it appears that, during the development of the tools, Monster did not (or not sufficiently) consider how jobseekers would use such tools during their orientation to the job market and in their search for jobs.
