Monster toetert hete lucht

Zoals dit persbericht van gisteren: TechAmerica Taps the Power of Monster’s Semantic 6Sense Search Technology to Accelerate Hiring in the Technology Sector

Logo MonsterWhat do you do when you have nothing to say but do not want an awkward silence? In the case of Monster you then invent something. Like this press release from yesterday: TechAmerica Taps the Power of Monster’s Semantic 6Sense Search Technology to Accelerate Hiring in the Technology Sector

As an interested follower of Monster I then think: hey, the first party to purchase the technology (6Sense) from Monster. That’s interesting! And that’s what it seemed like, until I start reading the press release. Because then it all suddenly changes …

[…] signed an exclusive agreement to offer efficiency and cost savings in the recruitment process for TechAmerica’s 1,200 members.

TechAmerica members will now be able to utilize Monster’s Power Resume Search powered Semantic 6Sense Search technology to bring efficiency and speed to the critical task of hiring […]

With Monster our members can post openings in minutes and start finding the top candidates right away. Matching the most qualified candidates is made easy with Monster’s innovative PowerResume Search product and their 6Sense search technology will help our members compare, rank, and sort resumes.

TechAmerica Taps the Power of Monster’s Semantic 6Sense Search Technology to Accelerate Hiring in the Technology Sector

It actually already starts with the first sentence in which Monster further describes the cooperation with TechAmerica:

[…] signed an exclusive agreement to offer efficiency and cost savings in the recruitment process for TechAmerica’s 1,200 members.

Efficiency and cost cut back? It was about 6Sense, no? Ahh, the second sentence seems to answer this:

TechAmerica members will now be able to utilize Monster’s Power Resume Search powered Semantic 6Sense Search technology to bring efficiency and speed to the critical task of hiring […]

Then the press release rambles on for a long time, until:

With Monster our members can post openings in minutes and start finding the top candidates right away. Matching the most qualified candidates is made easy with Monster’s innovative PowerResume Search product and their 6Sense search technology will help our members compare, rank, and sort resumes.

Wait a minute… this has absolutely nothing to do with a technology deal. This is simply about the default service from Monster! What the hell?

As part of the agreement, Monster has made a special action page for TechAmerica. And that looks like this:

TechAmerica | Actiepagina Monster

In the layout of Tech America, with the colors of Monster. All very nice. But what it is about is a box on the top right:

Aanbieding Monster aan TechAmerica leden

In other words, TechAmerica has given Monster a place in their parking lot. And now Monster needs to see if members of TechAmerica are willing to use the standard Monster services. To increase that chance Monster offers a 15% discount on services.

And that’s all. Put that against the title of the press release:

TechAmerica Taps the Power of Monster’s Semantic 6Sense Search Technology to Accelerate Hiring in the Technology Sector

What bloated nonsense!

Monster has nothing to report. For a cyclical company like Monster that is very annoying. Especially if the outlook in regards to the labor market are becoming more negative again. So Monster starts blowing some absolute nonsense around. Hot air and nothing else.

Monsters lips …
