Matt Chambers is de CEO van Loxo. Dat geeft niets, ik heb ook nog nooit van Loxo gehoord, tot het algoritme van LinkedIn het nodig vond om mij een zelfbevlekkend bericht van Chambers te tonen waarin hij roeptoetert over Loxo. Loxo is, volgens Chambers, namelijk een Zwitsers zakmes:
1. Applicant Tracking (ATS)
2. Recruitment CRM
3. Sourcing — hundreds of millions of professionals in a sourcing product
4. Campaign Sequencing + automated follow up
5. Dynamic and continuously updating Data and data enrichment.
6. AI across all of it.
Nou, dat ziet er behoorlijk indrukwekkend uit. Er is maar één probleem; Loxo is (ook) een people aggregator. En daarmee is Loxo buitengewoon illegaal, in Europa althans. Maar niet volgens Chambers/Loxo.
De site van Loxo geeft geen bevestiging van die honderden miljoenen professionals maar zegt wel het volgende:

Ethical sourcing is voor mij een novum, het vervolg (across the open public web) geeft aan dat het etische aspect per direct in de prullenbak kan, verder wordt ook nog data van derden wordt betrokken. Mogelijk hallucineert de goede man. Billions of unstructured data points klinkt als aanzienlijk meer dan hundreds of millions, maar daarbij moeten we niet vergeten dat professionals op meerdere plaatsen kunnen voorkomen. Deduplicering is dus een belangrijke activiteit. En daar staat het toch echt: compliance met AVG/GDPR kan Loxo natuurlijk volledig vergeten, scrapen is verboden, of ze dat nou zelf doet of door derden laat doen.
