Enkele dagen werd ik geattendeerd op Scotty Technologies, en op LinkedIn vond ik de volgende beloftes:

Hoe kan het dat ik nog nooit van deze duizendpoot heb gehoord? Begin ik te oud te worden?

Scotty AI is modulair, dat wil Scotty AI duidelijk maken in bovenstaande webpage:

En die vijf blokjes aan de onderkant van de pagina geven misschien wel de verschillende modules aan. Geen idee, want je kan er niet op klikken. Maar als Scotty AI dat allemaal kan is het geen assistant-recruiter. Het is een volledig geintegreerde oplossing; ATS en HRIS ineen!
Het is altijd aardig om metrics te zien waarmee een starry-eyed start-up haar meerwaarde kenbaar maakt. Maar het is nooit iets om ook maar één syllabe van te geloven, en Scotty AI maakt het wel heel erg bont door met een 99% reductie van de time to hire te schermen. Of 70% van de cost per hire af te halen… En als ik iemand binnen 1 minuut kan inhuren, waarom blijft er dan nog 30% aan kosten over? Je zou toch aannemen dat die daling vergelijkbaar is. Of is Scotty AI zo duur? En die grote, vette plus op de recruiter NPS is natuurlijk ook hilarisch. Willen alle recruiters de vinger opsteken die op basis van een net promotor score worden beoordeeld…
En nou vraag jij je natuurlijk af wat er onder die 6 bullet points staan? Nou, ik heb de heavy lifting al voor je gedaan en onder elk bullet point staat exact dezelfde tekst:

Op de één of andere manier had ik dan nog liever een regeltje potjeslatijn gehad, oftewel: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. Even betekenisvol maar zonder direct herkenbare woorden die met elkaar niets zinnigs zeggen. Minder frustrerend. Zeker als Scotty AI als één van de bullet points een verbeterde candidate experience heeft staan. Daar sla ik altijd op aan.
Er is niets concreets te vinden op de site van Scotty AI, maar op elke pagina is wel de call-to-action Talk to us te vinden. Dus heb ik daar maar op geklikt:

Een kalenderfunctie met afspraak mogelijkheid. Ten aanzien van de inhoud van deze afspraak doet Scotty AI de volgende beloftes:

Alleen de 2e belofte kan ze natuurlijk waarmaken zonder voorafgaande intake, de rest is ronkende onzin. Als ik een tijd selecteer, krijg ik het volgende scherm te zien:

En hier maakt Scotty AI melding van haar privacy policy:

En volgens de privacyverklaring van de site gaat dit ineens over Scotty Technnologies:
This statement relates to the processing of data by Scotty Technologies BV, having its registered office and place of business in (3521 GH) Utrecht at Vondellaan 154, listed in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 73718246.
Maar volgens de KvK is het bedrijf met dit KvK nummer niet meer. KvK:
Met ingang van 29-03-2023 is Scotty Technologies B.V. in staat van faillissement verklaard.
Hmmm. Biedt een privacyverklaring van een failliet bedrijf enige bescherming? Ik denk het niet. Maar er bestaat ook nog een Scotty AI, met als handelsnaam Scotty Technologies. En dat bedrijf levert diensten door middel van een spraakgestuurd conversational AI-platform, meer in het bijzonder op het gebied van HR en klantenservice. Dat bedrijf is 5 oktober 2023 opgericht, dus zo’n half jaar na het faillissement van het vorige Scotty Technologies en ondertussen ruim een half jaar in bedrijf. Enig bestuurder van Scotty AI is Engine Room Ventures B.V. en dat is de management bv van Reiner Bruns, de man die op LinkedIn als founder & CTO van Scotty AI te vinden is.
Dus als ik persoonsgegevens invoer dan kan Scotty AI er mee doen wat hij/zij/x wil. Dacht het niet…
